About the Japan Sports Arts Association

About the Japan Sports Arts AssociationModern society is sometimes referred to as an "era of emotion." Interest in sports and the arts is rising every year, and for the many people who observe and participate, the arts and cultural activities have become an essential presence like that of sports.
The scope of sports arts is expanding, and when we directly examine sports athletes, we can say that it includes various artistic elements including the well-conditioned physical form, refined techniques, and dignity arising from the internal aspects of competitors, expressed in temporal art and beauty. Sports are a type of human drama and a symbolic theme in sports arts. Art consists of movement and drama and is retained in memory and records.
Also included within the scope of sports art are the opening and closing ceremonies at sporting events. These ceremonies are cultural art that use the stadium as their theater. The scope of sports art is extremely broad and includes sports and painting, sports and sculpture, sports and photography, sports and music, sports and poetry, sports and fashion, sports and design, and so on.
The association seeks to stabilize the foundation of these activities while promoting sports art among the public and supporting the discovery and development of human resources. The sports art activities that we promote transcend borders such as language, religion, and belief and are peaceful activities, like the Olympics, that deepen understanding through various interpersonal exchanges. We are confident that these activities contribute substantially to the development of a healthy and sound global society.
